The GTR is fast but it's not a luxury car. You're missing out on a lot of creature comforts when compared to the luxury makes. The cost of maintenance just keeps it in the same league as those cars without the amenities.

If it needs to be reliable and cheap to maintain I'd pick an S2000.

Im a huge fan of the mustangs, either the Boss 302 or GT500. Not bad gas mileage, fast, relatively low maintenance cost...

If it doesn't have a trunk for my golf clubs, it can piss off.

It depends on ones needs.

I daily drive everything I own (swap amongst vehicles anyway). That includes the LP560-4, the F430, 360 Spyder, 911 Turbo(s), GT3, M3's, M5's and now my current 991 Carrera S Cabriolet.

None of the exotics, and I mean none of them, are good for daily driving (despite what anyone says). The ergonomics suck, they are loud, they ride stiff, there is no usable space, etc.

I like my current car (a lot) but it's usefulness for anything beyond carrying two adults is limited. Nor can I put golf clubs in it.

I'd probably agree that a CTS-V, RS4/5, C63, or any of the ///M's are the best daily driver performance cars.

Oh, and having put 2k miles on a GT-R recently, they suck for daily driving unless you're 21 years old and don't care about ride quality or carrying anything.

Realistically just about any car sold these days will be reliable to honestly daily drive. I cant think of a TRUELY unreliable car these days.

Poster, I mean poster. What have I done?

Was chatting with a guy at my gym yesterday who drives an Evora (purchased new in October, but I think he said its still a 2011). Mechanically, he said its been a pleasure. Electronically... everything from false CELs, to doors not unlocking. His locks have been replaced 3 times in the time he's owned it. Granted, this is the first person I've ever talked to about an Evora, and the first time I've ever heard about maintenance issues, but so far 100% of the people I've talked to

Some say he roams around the woods at night foraging for wolves.

I have a buddy who has one as a hold over till the 991 Turbo is out. He has a bunch of little quibbles with it. Nothing major, but just little things that he keeps saying push him back to the Porsche. Then again, he also has a Panny for every day work, and a HPF M3 that he hates when it needs fixing, but loves when it doesn't.

Point being, I can see that with the GTR. I will never deny the performance of it, or the sheer power potential, but it made a lot more sense at 75k than it does at 100k.
