Cadillac V-Series Performance Lab driving event

More than ever, finding and tracking down carmakers' driving events has become a game of luck, happenstance or, simply, being fortunate enough to be on a given carmaker's "target list" and receiving an invite. Thus, we've pretty much given up on keeping our driving events sticky updated.

Luck, however (or, more accurately, a tip from my.IS member fyeung04msm) informed us of what promises to be one of the more compelling and interesting driving events in a while, the Cadillac V-Series Performance Lab. The event's official website ( Cadillac V-Series Performance Experience ) describes it as a three-track rotation, experiencing three different vehicles on three different areas within the track. Throughout your time, you will receive expert classroom instruction from professional drivers. The multiple exercises focus on the CTS-V Coupe, CTS-V Sedan and CTS-V Wagon. You'll also be one of the first to get behind the wheel of the 2013 Cadillac ATS Sedan, the surprisingly quick and nimble newest addition to the Cadillac line-up.

This promises to be a serious, hardcore enthusiast event, including the presence of Cadillac's World Challenge Drivers: Johnny O'Connell and Andy Pilgrim, as well as the following comments in their Frequently Asked Questions:

Helmets will be provided; however, if you prefer, you may bring your own open-faced helmet that meets the minimum requirements of Snell M2005 or SA05 certification. We do not require racing suits, therefore we do not provide them nor will you have to bring one with you.

Dress in comfortable clothing, ideally 100% cotton and shoes that will not hinder your driving. We recommend flat, thin-soled shoes such as driving shoes or sneakers. Sandals or open-toe shoes are not permitted.
The Cadillac V-Series Performance Lab will take place on the following dates and locations:

Autobahn Country Club
Joliet, Illinois
Thursday 27 September
Friday 28 September
Saturday 29 September

Palm Beach International Raceway
Jupiter, Florida
Thursday 18 October
Friday 19 October
Saturday 20 October

Firebird International Raceway
Chandler, Arizona
Thursday 8 November
Friday 9 November
Saturday 10 November

Circuit of the Americas
Austin, Texas
Friday 7 December
Saturday 8 December
Sunday 9 December

Each date allows for two different time options:
a Morning Session: 7:30 AM-12:30 PM or an Afternoon Session: 12:30 PM-5:30 PM

The registration procedure is a bit unorthodox: You start by calling 855-487-3743, where you'll be given a longass Invitation Code reminiscent of a vehicle VIN number. Then, you visit the Cadillac V-Series Performance Experience site, enter the code, answer some questions and register for your preferred location and time, provided space is still available.

Two other final notes: You must be age 21 or over, with a valid U.S. driver's license to participate, and, unlike most of these events, you are NOT allowed to bring a guest. Thus, any friends you might want to bring along will have to register on their own.
