Painted my Fogs & Headlights

So I put my wagon away for the winter, so I went ahead while he had my car torn apart to paint my headlights and fogs, I was so tired of the chrome.. anyways, here's a sneakpeak, I'll get a full frontal tomorrow the car still had the bumper pulled tonight, I take it home tomorrow!

looks pretty good.
You painted the chrome rings black too?

What kind of paint did you/they use?

and what kind of prep work were done to them

Sorry to hear about the hit n run. That shit is fucked up man. People just have no class.

Lights look good. I've been wanting to do this as well w/black pearl paint but I just don't have the balls to bake my lights. =)

Wheel Coating I used dulicolor high performance wheel coating, it's sprays and coats really well and it was giving me that semi-met graphite color I couldn't find ANYWHERE else, black headlights on a black car look boring, this color is nice!!! no clearcoat needed.. I primed 3 coats, sanded with an 800 grit, then just sprayed 2 light coats + 1 medium coat of this on, perfection. Baked my lights @ 200deg in the oven for 10 min (fogs) 20 min (headlights) pryed them apart, wet sanded the lenses, put them back together with a heat gun...

Did you take off the factory silicone and added new or just re-used?

just reused, reheated the body and the cover and then pressed it back together and reheated it one more time with it back together running pressure around the entire bead. I didn't want to add or mix different sealants incase it would cause more leaking - they snugged up really well, so I hope not to have any issues.

Nice. Can you take a pic from far away as well. I want to do this too. Looks tight.

I wouldn't keep the ring chrome either, but I want to go satin black, and tint the turn signal.

I coalesce the vapor of human experience into a viable and logical comprehenshion.

First time it's been clean for me!!! the bodyshop guy said he had to STRIP my hood and after he did he found some of the stone chips were so deep they actually had dimpled the metal!! My front bumper was so bad it literally was peppered white near the corners it had so much paint loss from the chipping. first owner must've liked to tailgate...

I'll get that in a day or so here... don't do the ring, it kinda kills the darkness of the headlight and really takes away from the chrome-less look. tinting the signals is a great idea!!

Yeah, when I do mine....I'm painting the whole thing as well. I'm just afraid of condensation being build up after re-sealing. Keep me posted after the winter months. I want to know if anything builds up.
